A slice of Swedish Hospitality- The Klinge Family
Welcome to the Falsterbo peninsula and the beautiful village Ljunghusen. We, Rodika and Anders, live just next to one of the best beaches in Europe and we would love to host you for an evening!
A Slice of Swedish Hospitality offers visitors a unique chance to discover the cozy,
everyday but still exotic side of Sweden by having dinner with a local family. You can’t get much closer to us Swedes than that!
Lunch, a Swedish Fika, coffe break, or supper in a private home will give you a chance to sample some Swedish delicacies, depending on the season and your host’s own preferences in the kitchen, and have a chat about everyday life. You can ask about culture and traditions, find out about local stories and anecdotes or get insider tips on what to see or where to shop. Without question the most authentic way of experiencing the most southern part of Sweden called Skåne.
We met in our late teens and have been a couple since then. Today we live with our 2 kids on the beautiful Falsterbo peninsula on the very southwest tip of Sweden. We have one son, Martin, who has a masters degree from the University of New Mexico, and a daughter Hima who is keeping herself busy with studies at University, working and training while waiting to get into the police academy.
Rodika is a Rotarian and she is always very busy in both her professional life as well as in her personal life. She has been the chairman of the local Save the Children chapter, she has been involved in local politics and is active in a lot of other capacities. Professionally she runs one of our companies where she acts as a financial consultant.
Both in her her profession as well as in her private life Rodika loves to work with food and cook for small or big groups. She is the cook in the family and in our family she has made sure that we at least try all types of food (and love most of it).
Anders loves to play golf and likes to work (in that order). He used to work in the IT-consulting business until 10 years ago when we acquired a wholesale business focused on the hobby market. After rebuilding the company for 5 years we sold the business in 2009 and after that we started a production and sales business aimed at the hobby sector. He also works with the small convenience store that we own and run outside of Vellinge.
The area we live in is a peninsula where it's very close to nature, water and wind. This means that it's great for bicycle trips, walking on the beach, playing golf and windsurfing. The part where we live, Ljunghusen, is a residential area where every house must have a plot of land of at least 2000 square meters and you are not allowed to build anything but family houses. The local shop, local school, beaches and local golf course (top rated in Sweden) are just a short walk or bicycle ride away. Close to the house you will find our cat Texas looking at deer, rabbits or pheasants strolling by.
